The introduction of bees to Gazeley‘s Milton Keynes site is just one of their many sustainability initiatives and with an estimated one-third of the UK’s food dependent upon pollination, the role of bees in helping to create a sustainable environment cannot be underestimated. The Bee Hotels at Milton Keynes have proved so successful that Gazeley have now announced that an apiary with four honeybee colonies will be installed on their Northampton site and work is underway to get the hives placed on site. Gazeley are developing interesting bi-products from the production of honey, including Bee Beer and Bee Gin, in conjunction with Cardona & Sons who look after and manage the apiaries. Lysander are proud to support Gazeley in this hugely important initiative. Watch this space for news of more Bee Hotels!
